Product Photographer & Videographer (Freelance)

THE ROLE

We are looking for a hardworking and ambitious Product Photographer & Videographer to create and maintain the industry-leading visual assets that bring our editions to life.

Based full-time in our Amsterdam warehouse, you will be responsible for capturing and editing high-quality product photography and video for every release, while helping to continuously improve our in-house studio and production processes.

This is a full-time role, initially offered as a freelance contract to the end of this year (Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm), with the opportunity to become a permanent position in 2027 as the business grows.

Fluent written and spoken English is required. Basic Dutch is a plus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Photography & Videography

• Lead all in-house product photography and videography for new releases.

• Capture additional warehouse content, including behind-the-scenes moments, artist signings and other ad hoc shoots.

• Carry out occasional on-location shoots within the Amsterdam area.

• Source props and styling materials where required.

• Use AI tools to create and enhance additional visual assets for each release.

• Keep track of artworks arriving at the warehouse to ensure they are ready for photography.

• Support the Senior Creative Operations Lead with ad hoc creative requests.

Post-Production

• Edit all product photography and video to Avant Arte's visual and technical standards.

• Produce additional image and video assets as required by the Content team.

• Create framed composite images for each edition.

• Ensure all edition imagery is carefully colour matched to accurately represent the artwork across all assets.

• Ensure in-situ imagery accurately reflects the scale and proportions of each artwork.

• Edit and colour-match photography and video received from our global network of photographers to ensure consistency with Avant Arte's asset specifications.

Asset Management

• Own the organisation, upload and archiving of all photography and video assets.

• Build and maintain the master archive of high-resolution image and video files.

Studio Development

• Research and recommend new equipment to improve the in-house studio.

• Maintain equipment inventory, warranties and maintenance records.

• Carry out regular equipment checks to ensure everything is in excellent working order.

• Support the Senior Creative Operations Lead in maintaining a network of freelance photographers and videographers.

• Continuously identify opportunities to improve and streamline photography and videography workflows.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role. 

• Strong proficiency in Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and Capture One.

• Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.

• Experience using AI tools to enhance photography and create short-form video content.

• Experience working in a fast-paced studio or production environment.

• Experience in e-commerce product photography.

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

• The ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.

• A proactive mindset with a willingness to improve processes and take ownership of the studio environment.
