Avant Arte is a curated marketplace that makes discovering and collecting art radically more accessible for a new generation. Our team of passionate experts collaborate with leading contemporary artists from across the globe to create bespoke limited-edition artworks to browse and collect. We began as a cult blog of contemporary artists and since 2015 we've grown our community to over 3.3 million strong across more than 100 countries. We're proud to collaborate with leading contemporary artists to create limited edition works - from sculpture editions and works on paper to NFTs and hand-finished silkscreen prints.

Job requirements

WHAT WE NEED

We’re looking for an experienced Account Director / Project Director to join our team as an "Artist Lead". You will be personable and marketing-savvy, with the organisation skills and ability to work across multiple teams in the business. This role gives you the chance to work with some of the world’s most exciting artists and puts you in charge of growing our reputation and revenues.


We really do encourage everyone to proactively step outside of their job description if they see something that could be improved but the core of your role will involve:


1. Artist Relationship & Project Management 


Running a broad programme of artist launches that deliver commercially and reputationaly for our artists and Avant Arte.

Building meaningful relationships with our artists, by understanding their career, market and personal ambitions and aligning them successfully with our own. 


Delivering best in class project management and seamless project delivery including:

  • Project, GTM and marketing plans

  • Artist market research - using our inhouse tools

  • Artist edition strategy - working with our commercial and creative production team to define image selection, pricing, edition sizing and launch frequency

  • Contract negotiations ensuring our best interests are covered

  • Budgeting to ensure artists expectations are managed and we are hitting necessary margins

  • Cross departmental project management and alignment behind projects and longer term artist plans

  • Post launch reporting - for artists and our internal team to ensure we’re clearly communicating the value of working with Avant Arte to artists and ensuring we are constantly learning

  • Reporting against SLAs on a weekly basis


2. Pitching & Artist Acquisition 

  • Leading and coordinating the pitch process and documentation, pulling in key market insights to help underpin the commercial viability of your projects for Avant Arte and the artist.

  • Leading pitch deck creation, timelines and meetings, pulling in input from the wider team as required.

  • Leading and presenting in pitches to artists and partners.

  • Running your own efficient pitch funnel and reporting against targets on a weekly and quarterly basis by keeping trackers up to date and accurately projecting revenue.


The main skills we’re looking for are:

  • Ruthlessly organised with the ability to work across multiple artists and multiple projects at the same time

  • The ability to balance creative ambitions with commercial goals to ensure projects deliver for Avant Arte and the artist

  • An entrepreneurial spirit and ambition to grow revenues and our reputation.

  • An inquisitive mind who’s keen to understand what makes an artist tick and how we bring that to life for our audience.


We think you’ll probably have:

  • Proven track record of delivering pitches and projects - you might have worked in an agency as an account handler, producer or project manager - or working in a partnerships role for a brand in the creative industries
