ABOUT AVANT ARTE


Avant Arte wants to make art radically more accessible for a new generation.

The company began as a cult blog of contemporary artists, initially inspired through rap lyrics and hip-hop album covers. That blog grew organically into the world’s largest and most engaged online art community, with more than 2 million of their followers under the age of 35.

The company collaborates with iconic contemporary artists like Jenny Holzer, Cai Guo-Qiang, Claire Tabouret and the Chapman brothers, making their work more accessible to younger collectors through sculpture editions, print editions and unique works on paper. And they have built a highly engaged community of next-generation art collectors, which means Avant Arte’s artist launches are heavily oversubscribed, with many behaving more like fashion drops, selling out in under 30 seconds.

The company’s vision is to inspire a generation of millions of young people who love art like they love music and who collect works like they build their wardrobe.

We’re currently a team of 40, split between London and Amsterdam, looking to scale to 60+ over the next 6 months. This is a great opportunity to join a highly successful early stage business at a pivotal moment in our growth, where you will have impact from day one. As a member of the marketing team, you’ll be involved in fast-paced, endlessly-varied projects with culture-defining artists and curators.

Requirements

WHAT WE NEED 

Reporting into the Marketing Director, this role puts you in charge of our most important artist relationships. You will be working closely with some of the world’s top artists to build campaigns that inspire our thriving collector base, our 2.4m followers on Instagram and the world beyond! We’re scaling rapidly and building this department to ensure we’re making the most of the unique opportunities we have with these exceptional artists.  

 

The core of your role will involve:  

  

Strategy development and planning 

  • Working closely with the Marketing Director, Chief Curator and Head of Production to develop the strategy and annual marketing plans for our top artists and the hottest emerging talent - spotting opportunities to grow an artists reputation, collector base and commercial value. 

  • Developing comms plans for each launch and pitching them to the artist - working closely with the content and marketing team to build and deliver plans that deliver through our own channels and beyond.  

  • Creating quarterly comms calendars that map the activity we have with all artists across all channels.  

Outreach and collaboration 

  • Working closely with the artists to understand their ambitions and identifying ways in which we can help fulfil them. 

  • Developing and presenting post launch and campaign reports to the artists and their studios - ensuring we’re learning from everything we do. 

  • Managing regular meetings with the artists and their studios to ensure all our projects are moving at pace and being delivered to our high standards.

Performance tracking and insights  

  • Setting and tracking KPIs for each artist plan and collaboration - reporting on progress to key stakeholders and the business. 

  • Setting budgets on an annual and campaign basis - establishing ways to measure the ROI for the time and money spent on each piece of activity.   

  • Building dashboards to report on and understand the demand dynamic for your artists and using the data to drive your strategy and plan  

Process improvement 

  • Establishing new processes and documentation to ensure we can scale at pace without compromising quality. 

  • Bringing new ideas and ways of launching products that allow us to connect with new audiences. 

 

 The main skills we’re looking for are:

 

  • You’re highly motivated and work well with people: allowing you to inspire and get the most out of our internal departments and connect with artists on a creative level with ease. 

  • You’re data savvy, strong analytically: using it to drive better and more effective campaigns alongside planning, owning and reporting on budgets and ROI. 

  • You have excellent project management skills: with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders including building and delivering pitch winning presentations and award winning campaigns.

  • You’re commercially focused and thrive in a fast paced environment: with a proven track record of delivering outstanding campaigns and being able to clearly articulate how and why they worked along with demonstrating a clear ROI. 

  • You’re creative and innovative: with a passion for creating beautiful campaigns that deliver results

 

We think you’ll probably have:

 

  • Worked for a marketing agency, publisher or high growth start-up

  • Experience working on a large number of simultaneous projects

  • We imagine 6+ years in a similar role, but if you’ve got the above experience in less time, even better.
